5. Aaron Alexander, LB
While it seems like Aaron Alexander is committed to Michigan State, this wouldn't be a huge surprise given the fact that he has just 12 total tackles and a tackle for loss in his two years at Michigan State. He has appeared in 24 games on special teams and a little on defense, combining for those 12 tackles which means he just hasn't had enough of an impact to wait out an opening at linebacker.
Jordan Hall will (hopefully) return along with potentially Wayne Matthews III, Darius Snow, Marcellius Pulliam, Brady Pretzlaff, and Semaj Bridgeman. He'd be fighting for snaps again in year three.
While the Spartans are losing at least Cal Haladay and Jordan Turner who both started at linebacker this past season, they will be replaced by the guys mentioned above likely before Alexander. He just hasn't really cracked the depth chart and it's been two years.
On his third staff in as many years, he may be finding it difficult to make a name for himself and he may opt to join a team with a coach who recruits him (Mel Tucker did, not Jonathan Smith) in a smaller conference. He is from Belleville so staying at MSU may be attractive because it's home, but there are other options in the state if he wants more playing time and still wants to stay close to family.
