2. When MSU hits threes, it's wraps for opponents

For a month, Michigan State had been one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the country. The Spartans were making somewhere around 22 percent of their threes through the first eight games of the season but something changed on Wednesday.

In fact, Michigan State came out shooting hot, making 11-of-22 shots from distance, including drilling four of its final five shots from deep to end the game.

And as you can see, when the Spartans are making their long-range shots, they're nearly impossible to beat. We saw that for the first time this season against the Gophers. Michigan State had an answer to pretty much every three that the Gophers made (Mike Mitchell was 5-for-9) and that wore Minnesota down.

We saw Michigan State hang with Kansas, beat North Carolina, and dominate Colorado without a consistent 3-point shot but now we see what the Spartans can do with one.

Please keep this up.
