2. At some point, 3-point shooting will become an issue

On the season, Michigan State is one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the Big Ten, making around 30 percent from deep which just isn't good enough.

The top contenders in college basketball make somewhere between 35-40 percent and Michigan State is nowhere near that right now. That didn't change on Saturday as the Spartans were just 5-for-19 from deep despite Tre Holloman hitting the team's first attempt of the game.

If Michigan State wants to contend for a national title and hang on to first place in the Big Ten, it needs to find that stroke from long range.

Guys like Jaden Akins, Frankie Fidler, and Xavier Booker need to start making their open shots from distance because they're getting a lot of them. You know it's bad when your best 3-point shooter in the past few games has been Coen Carr.

That will become an issue against better offenses.
