3. Game comes down to the final possession
While I do think Michigan State is the much better team in this matchup, there's just something so daunting about Madison Square Garden for the Spartans.
I get it, it's the Mecca and one of the most historic venues in sports, but it does seem like every time the Spartans step foot on the court, they forget how to play basketball. They probably should've won their last two games there (Rutgers and Kansas State in 2022-23) but they fell short and are just 4-13 under Tom Izzo at MSG and 4-17 all time.
For that reason, I think this one is close throughout and comes down to the final seconds as the team with the ball last is going to win the game.
Michigan State and Rutgers will fight back and forth in this one before the Spartans try to pull away only to be met by a similar run by the Scarlet Knights. The game will be tied in the final seconds and I think Michigan State has the ball and wins it on a buzzer-beater from Jaden Akins. Spartans win, 77-75.
