3. Simeon Barrow Jr.

When Mel Tucker was fired, the transfer portal was opened to Michigan State players and Barrow was one of four guys who jumped in. Barrow decided to withdraw his name from the portal to stay in East Lansing and has put together a decent season under interim head coach Harlon Barnett.

Barrow is up to 29 tackles and 2.5 sacks through Week 11 and the junior defensive lineman also has one forced fumble.

Barrow is a team captain and after a short time in the portal this season had to go into Barnett’s office to ask to return. He even stood in front of his teammates to ask for their approval and no one objected.

It’s hard to leave teammates in the middle of the year, but it gets a lot easier after a three-win season is over and you have some time to reflect. I wouldn’t be surprised if Barrow entered his name right back in the portal after the year.
