Michigan State football: 3 takeaways from long-awaited win over Nebraska
1. There are some bright young stars on this team
Believe it or not, there’s some really good young talent on this team.
Outside of the aforementioned Sam Leavitt and Katin Houser, the Spartans have some impressive talent at every position and that’s one thing we can give Mel Tucker credit for. While he wasn’t the best live game coach or decision-maker, he was a solid recruiter.
On the defensive side of the ball, MSU has guys like Dillon Tatum, Jaden Mangham, Malik Spencer, Caleb Coley, Chance Rucker, Jalen Thompson, Zion Young, and Jordan Hall who have all looked really solid this season and they all made plays on Saturday in the win.
On offense, there’s Leavitt and Houser to go along with Nathan Carter, Tyrell Henry, Brennan Parachek, Ethan Boyd, and a number of talented offensive linemen.
The Spartans have plenty of young talent. The cupboard won’t be bare for the next head coach.
