2. Keep the interception train rolling

The Spartan defense has already surpassed their interception total from last year (2) in the first four games.

Any type of turnover is huge in a game like this, but when things go bad in the passing game for Iowa, tempers get a little heated, headsets get thrown to the ground, and finger-pointing begins.

The Spartans will take any competitive advantage they can get and if Cade McNamara throws a pick early, the Iowa offense will either go run heavy and the Spartans can load the box to stop the run, or he’ll get in his own head and compound his mistakes.

Either way, it’s a great path to victory.
