3. The players

While a single member of the coaching staff should not step foot on campus in 2024, a lot of student athletes on this roster will. It has been their dream since they touched a football to play for a Division I Power Five program.

Yes, a percentage of the current roster will transfer out just like any other year at every other school. But there’s players on this team now that will be household names in the next few years.

The 2023 recruiting class has been held in high regard and players like Jordan Hall and Chance Rucker are already making their presence felt in just a few appearances. These kids were put in an impossible situation and as young players, support from family and fans goes a long way.

So yes, I will be watching every week, rooting like no other for these kids to do the impossible: To succeed when other schools fanbases are rooting against them, trying to be recruited away from Michigan State, when their coaches don’t put in them in the right situations, and when a lot of fans are turning their backs.

There are other ways to show frustration with the coaching staff and the school administration as a whole, but to stop supporting the team isn’t the way to do it. The Maryland game wasn’t pretty, but not one player looked like they quit, and that says a lot about the character of the team.
