A week after going on the road and losing to Missouri on a 61-yard field goal, Chris Klieman and Kansas State returned home to beat a pesky UCF team in Manhattan.

The Knights gave Kansas State all it could handle, totaling over 400 yards of offense and putting the Wildcats on the ropes in the first half and through the third quarter. Klieman’s team was able to pull away in the fourth, however, and it was good to see him make adjustments and have his guys prepared for a dogfight.

While Klieman’s Wildcats gave up over 400 yards to UCF, they had over 500 total yards of offense themselves. And it was a balanced attack with 255 passing yards and 281 rushing yards.

A coach who can set up an offense to succeed with a dominant run game to open up the passing attack? Yeah, Michigan State fans would love this guy.

The reigning Big 12 champion head coach is high on my list and he didn’t hurt his stock this weekend.
