Michigan State football: 3 ideal head coaching candidates if Mel Tucker is fired
OK, so this one might just be a pipe dream (maybe) but Deion Sanders looks like the next big-time coaching star in college football. He came over from Jackson State and has had immediate success at Colorado through two games. Yes, it’s very early, but Colorado is already ranked after two big wins to start its season.
Sanders has been the driving force of the turnaround and basically told his team when he took over that he’s going to get the best guys and if they’re not ready to compete, they can move on.
That’s the type of buy-in-or-move-on attitude that Michigan State needs.
Coach Prime went 27-6 in three years at Jackson State, including a 16-0 record in conference play over his final two years before accepting the job at Colorado. So far, he’s 2-0 at Colorado and his team is one of the most exciting in college football.
Obviously it would be ridiculous to think that we could steal another rising coaching candidate from Colorado, but the school definitely has the money and will pay a good chunk of change for the next coach to change the culture for the better.
Sanders would do just that. He would have us believing again.
