2. Nathan Carter is special

Through two games as a Spartan, Nathan Carter has two 100-yard rushing performances.

When was the last time we saw this type of effectiveness from a transfer running back right away? Someone please remind me. Oh yeah, it was Kenneth Walker III.

OK, so Carter is not Kenneth Walker and no one will be, but he’s been very solid with some lackluster blocking through two weeks. I have not been impressed by the offensive line in the first two weeks and that needs to change before facing Washington in Week 3, but Carter hasn’t been too negatively affected by the so-so blocking.

Carter finished the game with 111 yards and three touchdowns on 19 touches and he’s off to a heck of a start to his Michigan State career with 224 yards and over 6.0 yards per carry.

If you’re not buying stock in the UConn transfer through two games, I don’t know what to tell you.
