2. Fewer drops

I never thought I’d see so many drops from guys like Tre Mosley and Maliq Carr, but the two most sure-handed pass-catchers on the team had a handful of drops. Not ideal.

And then there was the Hail Mary to Montorie Foster to end the half that hit him right in the facemask. I get that there were three defenders there, but that’s a catch you have to make.

Granted, some of the throws were off-target, especially early on, but the drops were very much in the right spots. Noah Kim hit these guys in the numbers on some of their drops and that’s what made this game so disappointing for Mosley and Carr.

We did see Tyrell Henry make a one-handed catch and Jaron Glover catch the ball over his shoulders 30-plus yards down the field, but the veterans need to be able to step up and be the sure-handed pass-catchers that we expected them to be.

I’d like to see more from Foster, Carr, and Mosley in Week 2.
