Coming back home to begin November, the Spartans will have an entire month to notch that sixth win and get into a bowl game. It’ll start with a game against the rebuilding Nebraska Cornhuskers led by Matt Rhule who figure to be better than they were in the Scott Frost era.

But it’s still a rebuild in Lincoln.

I don’t think Nebraska will be all that competitive this season. It might make a bowl game, but it’s not going on the road to beat a hungry Michigan State team looking to bounce back from two straight losses and hoping to avoid an epic meltdown to finish the season.

Prediction: Win (6-3, 3-3)

Ah yes, the dreaded road game against Ohio State. These kinds of games haven’t gone well for the Spartans since the prime Mark Dantonio days and while this roster is talented enough to make the Buckeyes sweat a little, it’s not going on the road to beat Ryan Day and Ohio State — yet.

This one might get pretty ugly. I expect a huge win for the Buckeyes and a demoralizing trip home for Michigan State.

Prediction: Loss (6-4, 3-4)
