Michigan State football: 4 All-Big Ten candidates on defense for 2023
After getting suspended by Mel Tucker following the tunnel incident, Jacoby Windmon missed the final four games of the 2022 regular season. His promising numbers stalled out and it felt like he had so much more to show.
Fortunately for the Spartans, he decided to return for one more season in East Lansing.
Windmon won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors multiple times in his first year with the Spartans and finished the season with 49 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and an interception. He also added two pass breakups.
The UNLV transfer began the season as a defensive end and dominated against lesser opponents before moving back to his more natural linebacker spot, looking very comfortable doing so.
With a full season under his belt at linebacker, Windmon is going to put up some video game-like numbers and push for a spot on the All-Big Ten first team.
This dude is supremely talented.
