Michigan State football hasn’t landed a commitment in what feels like ages as the early part of July had some fireworks with guys like Justin Denson and Nick Marsh committing.

There were rumors swirling back around that time that guys like Dylan Williams and Jason Brown could be next but that just didn’t happen. Brown has since visited Oregon and his recruitment has been fairly tame while Williams committed to the Ducks on the same day that Marsh picked the Spartans.

The staff probably isn’t going to give up on Williams (or Kamar Mothudi), but they still seem to be in a favorable spot for Brown.

In fact, Michigan State picked up another prediction to land Brown on Wednesday afternoon from On3’s Jason Killop.

The confidence level of 70 percent is encouraging as well.

Michigan State football aiming for elite 1-2 punch

A day after Rivals dropped Anthony Carrie about 20 spots in their overall 2024 class rankings, Brown receives a prediction to end up at Michigan State. Not a horrible development for the Spartans.

Michigan State is now projected to have an elite 1-2 backfield punch in its 2024 class.

Carrie is still a four-star back and is shifty and electric with elite speed while Brown is a strong-bodied 5-10, 205-pound powerful back. These two are going to make up a heck of a backfield and they should help continue the momentum being built by Mel Tucker in the run game.

Going from Jalen Berger and Nathan Carter to Carrie and Brown would be nice.
