1. Quarterback battle

The most obvious storyline that everyone should be following is the quarterback battle. Who’s going to leave fall camp as QB1 and who’s going to be the primary backup?

Mel Tucker has made it a point to say that this is a three-man race between Noah Kim, Katin Houser, and Sam Leavitt and the overwhelming consensus heading into camp is that the former two are the favorites. This could very well end up being a two-man race strictly because Leavitt doesn’t know the system quite as well as the others.

I do, however, believe that Leavitt is going to be very good in East Lansing.

But the job is up for grabs and Kim may have the experience advantage, but Houser has the tools to be a really good quarterback and the coaching staff has admitted that. I mean, he was an Elite 11 finalist for a reason.

The quarterback battle is the biggest storyline during fall camp and the winner has a lot riding on his shoulders.
