Michigan State football has interestingly never played these FBS teams

Michigan State football vs. AAC

There are some potentially fun matchups in the AAC but Michigan State has yet to play six of the teams from the conference.

Charlotte: A non-local, non-power Group of Five program? Not exactly something that the athletic department is scrambling to schedule.

East Carolina: There have been some chances to face East Carolina as the Pirates have been to 21 bowl games in program history, but there’s just no reason to put this game on the schedule.

Navy: Although Navy is a historic program with over 730 all-time wins and two Heisman Trophy winners, Michigan State has never had a chance to face the Midshipmen surprisingly.

North Texas: Remember when ESPN conjured up some fake beef between Michigan State and North Texas over the nickname “Mean Green”? Yeah, well that was a whole nothingburger, just like the all-time series between these two programs.

Tulane: The team that Michigan State beat out for Keon Coleman out of high school (I promise not to bring that name up again) appears on this list. Believe it or not, the Green Wave are former members of the SEC. They have, however, only made 15 bowl games in school history.

UTSA: The Roadrunners have only been in the FBS since 2011 and have four all-time bowl appearances so this isn’t a huge shock.
