Surprised to see a non-California recruit on this list? Well, Mel Tucker recruits nationally now which is something us Spartans aren’t quite used to. We’re used to seeing the Midwest-only recruiting with some Georgia sprinkled in.

Tucker has put in some serious work out west.

Jason Brown is just the latest example. Michigan State has done a fantastic job with the four-star running back from Seattle who could have his pick of the litter when it comes to school choice.

In fact, Alabama, Georgia, USC, Oregon, Washington, and Texas are all high on the list, but Michigan State has arguably done the best job out of all of those programs in recruiting him. His only official visit in June was to East Lansing and he’s planning on checking out Oregon and Washington before potentially making a summer decision.

Michigan State has already landed four-star running back Anthony Carrie but getting Brown to join him in an incredible one-two punch would be ideal.

Brown is ranked the No. 92 overall recruit and No. 9 running back in the 2024 class.
