Dylan Williams is the other linebacker I was talking about that Michigan State might like its chances for more, keeping Kamar Mothudi as an honorable mention. Landing both would obviously be the ideal situation, but I’m not sure that’s realistic.

Also from California, Williams is the No. 181 overall recruit and 17th-best composite linebacker in the 2024 class. He has plenty of potential suitors (31 offers) but Michigan State, Oregon, UCLA, and Miami look to be the leaders in his recruitment. Washington was also in the mix, landing a June 16 official visit while Miami didn’t get one.

Williams announced on Tuesday that he has set a commitment date (or that’s what it’s presumed to be) of July 7. Michigan State and Oregon are likely the leaders here.

Mel Tucker has done a really good job of recruiting the West Coast in this class and Williams has been really high on Michigan State ever since his June 2 official. Could that visit have changed his mind about potentially leaning toward Oregon?

We’ll find out in a couple of days.
