One of the top fan favorite Michigan State football recruits in recent memory is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Andrew Dennis, one of the top recruits in the state of Michigan, committed to the Spartans back on April 8 and has been one of the best representatives of the school and recruiting class since. He has been on campus every weekend for official visit season trying to get others to join him in the Spartans’ 2024 class.

Throughout the whole process, he was smack-dab in the middle of Michigan State’s 2024 class as a three-star recruit and a guy many felt was underrated.

Underrated no more.

On Thursday afternoon, the Michigan State commit jumped drastically in the updated 247Sports rankings to No. 194 in the country, receiving his fourth star. He’s no longer “underrated” per 247Sports standards, but now the rest of the recruiting services need to follow suit.

Per the composite, he’s still a three-star, ranked the No. 459 prospect in the class and the eighth-best prospect in the state of Michigan as opposed to the state’s fourth-best recruit on 247Sports.

Mel Tucker, Michigan State football prove to be elite evaluators

This is not a huge surprise to see Dennis rise in the ranks and it just goes to prove that Mel Tucker and Chris Kapilovic know talent when they see it. We’ll likely see the Luniewski twins rise in the rankings soon enough.

With this change in the recruiting rankings, Michigan State now has two four-stars and one high three-star who is right on the edge (Jaylen Thompson).

We’re seeing that Tucker and Co. know talent when they see it, regardless of ranking.
