Michigan State football: Anthony Carrie vows to be a great leader
Michigan State football picked up a massive commitment on Saturday night from four-star running back Anthony Carrie. He chose the Spartans over North Carolina as well as 40 other offers.
There’s no doubt about it, this was a massive recruiting win for Mel Tucker.
Carrie has already gotten to work, recruiting fellow 2024 prospects to join him in East Lansing and that just shows one thing: he’s going to be a great leader at Michigan State.
Even Carrie said the same thing himself — months earlier.
The first tweet was from March and after he committed to Michigan State, he reaffirmed his position on the matter. He plans to be a leader, come early and stay late, and he’s going to perform on Saturdays.
That’s exactly what fans want to hear.
Carrie will look to be the next great Michigan State football back
The No. 273 prospect in the class has big goals obviously. He plans to be a leader and we already know he’s supremely talented. He’s the third four-star running back to commit to Mel Tucker but he’d be the first one to actually sign.
When he does actually sign, he’ll join a tradition-rich program that has had some great running backs, especially in recent memory.
Of course, there have been guys like Lorenzo White, Javon Ringer, and TJ Duckett, but in recent memory, he’ll look to follow in the footsteps of Le’Veon Bell, Jeremy Langford, and Kenneth Walker III. Even this coming season, Nathan Carter and Jalen Berger have a chance to join that impressive group with 1,000-plus yard seasons.
Carrie has the talent to join the likes of the names above and all of them were great leaders as well. If all goes as planned, he’ll be a fan favorite soon.
