Michigan State football closing in on 4-star RB Anthony Carrie
Michigan State football has gotten off to a slow start in its 2024 recruiting class.
Mel Tucker has been a little more conservative when it comes to official visits this cycle compared to last year when he tried to get as many stars on campus as possible, regardless of the chances to land them. Now, he’s hosting much more attainable targets.
One of the recent visitors from June 9, four-star running back Anthony Carrie, could soon give the 2024 class a boost as he loved what he saw on his Michigan State trip.
On Saturday morning, he announced that he would be committing later at night.
Earlier on Saturday morning, 247Sports Michigan State insiders Corey Robinson and Justin Thind both placed crystal balls for the Spartans to land Carrie.
It feels like it’s only a matter of time before he’s representing MSU.
Carrie is ranked the No. 273 overall recruit and No. 22 running back in the class.
Michigan State football could take two running backs
The word from Corey Robinson has been that Michigan State is likely to take two running backs this class which makes sense because the Spartans have been targeting a number of them.
Carrie would obviously be the first as he’s about to commit tonight (looking like MSU) and the other could be someone like Jason Brown, a four-star who’s currently visiting Michigan State. That would be one of the best one-two running back combinations in the country for the 2024 class as Brown is a top-100 recruit.
If all goes as planned, Tucker is about to land his third four-star running back as head coach of Michigan State, but Carrie may be the first to actually sign with the Spartans.
