Michigan State football is facing arguably its biggest recruiting weekend of the summer as multiple blue-chip prospects will be in East Lansing for officials.

Mel Tucker will have to work on guys like Nick Marsh, Jason Brown, David Stone, and DeAndre Carter who are all four-star prospects who will be in town. They have a chance with each one, but Tucker will need to put in serious work.

There’s another recruit who will be in town that is close to making a decision as well: Justin Denson.

The three-star defensive back from Rhode Island just released his top five schools on Tuesday and revealed his commitment date as well.

Denson has already visited Oklahoma, Alabama, and Florida, and Michigan State will be his destination this weekend. The Spartans get the final official visit before his commitment.

That could be huge.

Michigan State football could make a huge impression on Denson

Denson was originally supposed to visit on June 2 but he postponed it and rescheduled for June 23. He’ll be on campus with other big-time targets and Tucker will have the help of Andrew Dennis when it comes to recruiting fellow 2024 class prospects.

Michigan State will have a chance to seal the deal this weekend, but it won’t be easy considering how loaded his top five is.

As recently as a few weeks ago, Denson wasn’t even ranked, but he’s shot up to the No. 614 prospect in the class and the No. 1 recruit from Rhode Island on 247Sports. The Spartans got in early on Denson, so we’ll see if that pays off.
