Michigan State football has a massive recruiting weekend coming up.

Some big names will be on campus, but none are bigger than five-star defensive lineman David Stone who just announced his plans to take an official over the weekend.

For over a year, fans have been pushing for Stone and wondering if the Spartans can beat out Oklahoma for the five-star defensive lineman who stars at IMG Academy.

Now, Mel Tucker and Co. will get one final shot at the five-star as his official visit schedule comes to a close. This is an opportunity for Tucker to make up some ground and potentially take a lead in his recruitment before he decides where he’s going.

The pressure is on.

This is what Mel Tucker, Michigan State football wanted

When Stone was planning his official visits, word came out that Tucker requested the final one and the five-star clearly granted him that. This is his final official.

Stone has been to Florida, Miami, and Oklahoma and he’s ending his stretch with Michigan State, a place he calls “home” away from home. He’s said in the past that Oklahoma is his home by birth and Michigan State is his home by choice. We’ll see if that means much when he decides to commit.

This would easily be Tucker’s biggest recruiting win and he does have a chance to make up some ground with Oklahoma.

We have to hope the staff knocks this one out of the park like they had done with Reggie Powers and countless others who raved about the Spartans following official visits.

Stone is the No. 5 overall recruit in the 2024 class, according to the composite.
