Folks, the time is finally here. It’s time to really look forward to commit watch season. And Michigan State football fans have been waiting a while for this.

The Spartans have been stuck on three commits for a little while now and with two official visit weekends in the books, it feels like the 2024 class is past due to grow.

The wait may be over on Wednesday night.

In fact, three-star safety Reggie Powers announced via Twitter that he would be making his decision on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Dayton, Ohio, native will reportedly be choosing between Northwestern, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Pitt. He had visits scheduled to Ohio State and Cincinnati in the coming weeks, but those look to be out of the picture with his commitment looming.

Finally, Michigan State could add to its 2024 class as it is trending heavily for the high three-star.

Michigan State football in good shape for Powers

After the official visit weekend concluded, crystal balls on 247Sports started rolling in for Michigan State in regard to Powers. He was originally an Ohio State lean, but Michigan State took command of the predictions and the Spartans currently lead 90.9 percent to 9.1 percent.

Moreover, Michigan State has a commanding lead on On3’s prediction machine.

Powers is ranked the No. 585 overall recruit and 57th-best safety in the class and it looks like he’ll be a Spartan soon. It’s good to see Mel Tucker dipping back into the state of Ohio.

Let’s hope this starts a domino effect.
