Michigan State football: 3 freshmen who will have major impacts in 2023
Michigan State football brought in its best recruiting class since 2016 as Mel Tucker and Co. put in some serious work to land the No. 23 group in 2023.
Now, it’s time for those guys to get to work.
Which incoming freshmen will have the biggest immediate impacts for Michigan State and help engineer a turnaround after a disappointing 2022 season?
One of the guys I’m most excited for from the 2023 class is Stanton Ramil. There were talks for weeks that other programs were trying to flip the four-star from SEC country but he stuck true to his word and remained a Spartan throughout the process.
Even more importantly, he enrolled early.
Ramil is the kind of prospect who may not necessarily be needed right away, but he will be good enough that the coaching staff is going to have a tough time keeping him off the field. He joins Cole Dellinger and Keyshawn Blackstock as the other two four-star linemen in the 2023 class — I would have had Blackstock on this list because he’s likely to start, but he’s a JUCO and, therefore, not a freshman.
The Alabama product stands 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds and he’s gotten to know the offense and gel with the rest of the offensive line all spring. I have high hopes for him right away and I think we could see him have an impact early on that offensive line.
