Michigan State football could be on commit watch with 4-star RB
It’s been a while since Michigan State football’s 2024 recruiting class had some good news and that could all change this weekend.
It’s the second official visit weekend of June and three-star lineman commit Andrew Dennis is in town to try and help the staff do some recruiting. He plans to be there every weekend in June to help out the staff and that may pay dividends with this crop of visitors.
Michigan State has been targeting a handful of four-star running backs and one of them will be in town this weekend.
Four-star running back Anthony Carrie has been trending toward the Spartans for the past week, or so, and he’ll be in town this weekend for his official.
Carrie is ranked the No. 253 overall recruit and No. 21 running back in the 2024 class and while he does have a trip to North Carolina planned for the following weekend, many believe that Michigan State is in the driver’s seat here.
Michigan State football could finally add to its 2024 class
The 2024 class has lost two commits over the past couple of months in Nick Marsh and Jamari Howard but the Spartans could soon add a four-star running back.
If Carrie were to commit, he would have the potential to be the first four-star back to commit and eventually sign with Michigan State. Mel Tucker has gained commitments from Audric Estime (2021) and Kedrick Reescano (2023) but both ended up decommitting and picking Notre Dame and Ole Miss, respectively.
But Carrie could be the first to stick with Michigan State. Tucker has a chance to seal the deal this weekend.
