Michigan State football: Power ranking offensive position groups for 2023
1. Offensive Line
The more I look at the measurables of the Spartans’ offensive line, the more I love it. Then, I look at how much experience is coming back, and I love it even more. Then, I look at the depth of the position and I had to put this group No. 1.
A combined 43 starts between Brandon Baldwin, J.D. Duplain, Nick Samac, Geno VanDeMark, and Spencer Brown is enough to have hope. Add in the top JUCO transfer in Keyshawn Blackstock (6-foot-5, 315 pounds), mammoth redshirt sophomore Ethan Boyd (6-foot-7, 325 pounds), the No. 14 offensive guard in the 2022 class Kristian Phillips (6-foot-4, 347 pounds), and that’s not even including the stellar incoming freshmen Stanton Ramil (6-foot-7, 310 pounds), and Cole Dellinger (6-foot-4, 290 pounds).
With any consistency, this group could lead the Spartans to a much better season running the ball and protecting a young quarterback; two things a team needs to win big games.
