Michigan State football: 3 defensive players to buy stock in after spring 2023
I like what Dillon Tatum brings to the table and while I may be slightly higher on Jaden Mangham, I think the former has a chance to be a really solid cornerback.
There’s been talk of him as a safety with his strong 5-11, 200-pound frame, but I think he’s starting to show that he can be a solid cornerback. Especially since the team needs some serious help at cornerback.
Michigan State did bring in Kee’yon Stewart after spring ball from TCU and Charles Brantley quickly took his name out of the portal just a day after entering so the position group may not be quite bare, but it could use some young talent to get the job done. Tatum fits that description and I think he could be a really solid lockdown guy and aggressive against the run.
It’s been a while since Michigan State had a really strong secondary and Harlon Barnett has to like what he’s got in Tatum in the defensive backfield.
I’m also putting stock into a few other defensive backs after spring ball: Caleb Coley, Mangham, and Malik Spencer.
