I honestly didn’t expect to be writing about Noah Kim so much after spring ball, but what he did over the past couple of months cannot be ignored.

Let’s just talk about the public practice or “spring game” first. He looked like the best quarterback on the field, albeit in such a small sample size (a small fraction of all spring snaps). He may be a main reason why Payton Thorne decided to hit the transfer portal and pick Auburn. Plus, he was able to overcome the hype for Katin Houser to really show out.

Kim is currently looking like the favorite to win the starting quarterback job and if he does, he can thank the strong spring that he had. That could very well carry over momentum into the summer.

The former Mark Dantonio recruit from Virginia has appeared in just three career games and has completed 14-of-19 passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns. All of these appearances were in garbage time, but he still looked the part of a solid Power Five quarterback.

Now it’s time for him to prove himself as the starter.
