2. Detroit Lions (Nos. 48 or 81 overall)

This might seem like a bit of a homer pick because I’m a Lions fan, but it would just make sense.

Although the Lions have Amon-Ra St. Brown who is one of the best young receivers in the NFL, they did just find out that 2022 first-round pick Jameson Williams will be suspended for the first six games of the 2023 season. Kalif Raymond will likely start in his place along with Marvin Jones Jr. who was just signed again so Jayden Reed wouldn’t need to start immediately.

But he’d provide immediate depth.

Reed could play a complementary role to those starting receivers but there’s really no proven depth on the roster at receiver. When Williams comes back in Week 7, he can go back to a lesser role after gaining valuable experience.

Jared Goff would love another weapon and I know the Lions likely aren’t going to spend another first-round pick on a receiver, so why not land Reed at No. 48 overall or even No. 81?
