Mel Tucker and Michigan State football have had some good luck with quarterbacks during the recruiting process over the past two cycles.

Although the Spartans didn’t land their Plan A quarterbacks in the 2022 and 2023 classes, they were able to audible and still pick up really good players. In 2022, it was Katin Houser who the staff flipped from Boise State, and in 2023, the staff went out and landed Sam Leavitt from Washington State after losing Bo Edmundson.

The staff has already missed out on their top two quarterback targets in the 2024 class in Davi Belford and Jake Merklinger but Tucker is still working hard.

Tucker is actually working on building a new quarterback board for 2024, but also he’s looking at the 2025 class and just offered one of the best passers in that cycle on Tuesday.

Michigan State football offers a five-star 2025 quarterback

On Tuesday evening, five-star quarterback George MacIntyre announced that he had received an offer from the Spartans.

This is a big offer for Tucker as MacIntyre is one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 class and already holds over 30 despite being just a sophomore. He’s one of the biggest names in the class and there’s a reason schools like Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M are all high on him. He’s really, really good.

And his size is intriguing. He’s a gunslinger who stands 6-foot-5.5 and still has room to fill out at 182 pounds.

MacIntyre is the No. 12 prospect in the 2025 class and the No. 2 quarterback, according to the 247Sports Composite.

With this offer, Tucker is now targeting the top two quarterbacks in the 2025 class as Belleville’s Bryce Underwood may be priority No. 1 as the top passer in the nation.

Next. Projected starting 5 with Malik Hall back. dark
