It’s that time of the year when recruiting begins to heat up and Michigan State football fans hope that means more commitments on the horizon.

The Spartans are already waiting to hear their fate with four-star tight end Dylan Mesman this week as he’s planning to release his top five on Wednesday and then announce his commitment on Friday.

On top of that, Michigan State has made narrowed lists of four-star athlete Rashawn Clark and four-star receiver Kwazi Gilmer. That just shows that Mel Tucker is still working relentlessly to recruit on a national level and four-star linebacker Dylan Williams is further proof of that.

The four-star linebacker from Long Beach, Calif., visited Michigan State last week unofficially and it seems like he loved it enough to plan a return trip in June, officially.

Does Michigan State football lead for Williams?

Williams announced on Monday that he would be taking a trip to East Lansing in June.

It  just feels like Michigan State has a ton of momentum right now with the nation’s No. 141 overall recruit and 11th-best linebacker, according to the 247Sports Composite. In fact, he only has one other official planned currently and that’s to Texas on June 23. Michigan State is the only program currently listed as “warm” as his interest level on 247Sports.

There’s still a long way to go in this recruitment, but if Tucker can knock the June 9 official visit out of the park, he could take a healthy lead in this recruitment.

Beating out teams like Texas, USC, Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, Utah, and Washington for his services would be a massive boost for Tucker and his 2024 class.
