The 2023 spring “game” is officially in the books and Michigan State football fans got their first taste of what the latest version of the Spartans will look like.

Although it wasn’t a true scrimmage, fans got to see the quarterback battle take place (sort of) as well as some underrated guys who saw their stock go up.

Which three players’ stock went up the most after the spring game?

I get it, there may not be enough spots on the field for Jordan Hall to truly make a major impact as a true freshman, but he’s good enough to shock people and maybe slide into that two-deep.

He showed that during the public practice.

Hall was all over the field, made really good plays on defense, and just shows an overall knowledge for the game that not many freshman have. He could become one of those elite leaders to come through Michigan State and I even saw him compared to a Greg Jones or Max Bullough type who captains the defense for years.

Could Hall be Mel Tucker’s Greg Jones? From the looks of it last weekend, my money would be on “yes.”

I’m buying stock in the former top-200 recruit and it’s clear to see why he was a three-time captain at IMG Academy. He’s great on the field and off.
