3. The run game looks much improved

It’s early but I know a lot of Michigan State fans were looking to see an improved run game from the team this year. While the defensive line may be thin coming out of spring, it’s a good group of linebackers that will force the linemen and running backs to be better, if not only for pride.

During the 1-on-1s, offensive line/defensive line/linebackers drill, it looked very evenly matched highlighted defensively by Cal Haladay blowing up an inside run while Jaren Mangham looked impressive with an explosive outside run and a nice gain by finding a small crease created by the offensive line.

While Nathan Carter and Jalen Berger also looked solid, it was Mangham who looked like he would get the starting nod if the season started today. But it doesn’t and now the coaching staff has 15 practices worth of film to see where this team can get better.
