Arguably the biggest storyline of the offseason thus far, Tyson Walker announced his return to the Spartans for 2023-24 on Monday and the fanbase went crazy.

This was the news we had all been waiting for.

Now that he’s back, he’s plugged into the two spot with some ball-handling duties when AJ Hoggard needs a breather. He’s one of the best guards in the country as well and he showed just why he deserved national recognition near the end of the season when he strung together some elite performances against Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, and Marquette.

I’d like to think one of the reasons for his return was the fact that he had his heart ripped out by Kansas State in the Sweet 16 back in his hometown. He wants revenge.

Walker is one of the most clutch players in the country as well as a guy who can take over a game if he’s given the green light (he should always be). He averaged 14.8 points and 2.9 assists per game while shooting an impressive 46 percent from the floor and 42 percent from deep in 34 minutes per game.

Let’s hope his usage actually increases and he averages 10-15 shots per game instead of the 8.9 he averaged this year.
