Katin Houser is one of the most anticipated players that Michigan State has had in years.

The former four-star quarterback committed to Michigan State’s 2022 class later in the process as Jay Johnson and Mel Tucker were able to flip the Elite 11 star from Boise State. He skyrocketed in the recruiting rankings and he was considered one of the best quarterbacks in the nation.

As a true freshman, he barely saw the field and played the third-string role behind Payton Thorne and Noah Kim, but I can see him pushing for the QB1 job this spring.

Heck, Johnson even said that the quarterback battle is wide-open, but the early rumors this spring is that Houser is the best that the position has to offer. It’s basically his job to lose and Thorne and Kim may be playing catch-up at this point. Are those rumors just hope-based? Maybe, but I believe them. Houser is that talented.

Houser has added some good weight since getting to Michigan State last winter and he’s learned the playbook and has a ton of confidence. I think we’ll see him become QB1 this spring and a star in the fall.
