This is one of those players that I think everyone was hoping Tom Izzo was going to land in the 2022 class, but Isaac Traudt chose Virginia.

In one year at Virginia, he didn’t play a single game as he redshirted for Tony Bennett and then decided to hit the transfer portal shortly after the season. He was considered a future star for the Cavaliers, though, and I can bet that fans are not happy that he’s leaving because he had so much potential.

Traudt, a sharpshooting power forward from Nebraska, could opt to go back home and play for the Cornhuskers who recruited him or even Creighton. But Izzo could always reach out as Traudt would perfect fill that Joey Hauser hole.

Heck, Joey committed to Marquette over MSU when he was being recruited and Izzo circled back, so why not Traudt? The fit would make sense as Joey is likely gone and Traudt can stretch the floor and plays a very similar style.

I’d be ecstatic if MSU was able to land him, but I also would not be shocked to see him head home.
