Guard: Tyson Walker, Senior

Tyson Walker was one of the best players in the Big Ten at the end of the season and he has a big decision to make this offseason: will he run it back or move on?

Walker finished the year averaging 14.8 points while shooting 46 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range. He was the clutch shooter down the stretch in big moments that the Spartans needed. Heck, he hit big shot after big shot against Marquette to send the Spartans to the Sweet 16.

Ending the season like he did with the turnover down three as the seconds ticked away in overtime against Kansas State, I think Walker will be hungry for some redemption.

I’m hoping that a Walker return doesn’t make Jaden Akins think twice about coming back to split the go-to duties at the guard spot. I think both can play off each other and benefit from each other in the starting five, but that’s my only worry.

If Walker does return like I think he will, he will be a legit Big Ten Player of the Year candidate.
