AJ Hoggard: A

AJ Hoggard was probably the best player on the floor on Saturday afternoon in East Lansing. He was driving and scoring, making free throws, finding open guys, protecting the ball, and even hitting some 3-pointers. He was doing everything right.

Over the past four games, it feels like something has clicked in Hoggard as he’s averaging 17.5 points and 8.3 assists in that span while shooting 49 percent from the floor.

Against Ohio State, he finished with a game-high 23 points on 6-for-11 shooting and he was 9-for-11 from the free throw line. He had seven assists with just one turnover and three rebounds and a steal to go along with that. Over his past two games, he has an astounding 21 assists with just two turnovers. He’s only 19 assists away from having a top-10 passing season in program history.

Hoggard is one of the best point guards in the country and when he’s playing aggressive, smart basketball, he’s elite. He’s been elite for the past four games.
