It wasn’t the most comfortable of wins, but Michigan State basketball led for 99 percent of the game to beat Ohio State on Senior Day.

This win gave Michigan State an 11-8 Big Ten record to close the conference season and a legitimate chance at a top four seed in the conference tournament. Penn State helped those chances out on Sunday afternoon and Purdue is doing its best to help as well.

The Spartans are playing really well offensively right now and while the defense could use some improvement, this team is trending in the right direction.

Who graded the best in the Ohio State win, however?

Malik Hall: B+

Malik Hall had one of his really good games. No, he wasn’t great but he didn’t need to be. He got his first start since before his injury issues and he hit some clutch shots and really didn’t show any hesitation when shooting the long ball, which I loved to see.

Hall finished 4-for-8 from the floor and 2-for-4 from deep while grabbing three rebounds in 28 minutes of action. He looked like he fit in that starting lineup and was one of the reasons the Spartans raced out to an 11-point lead very early on.

It feels like Hall is gaining confidence as the season draws to a close and if he can carry that over into the NCAA Tournament, he’ll add another legit scoring threat to a budding offense.
