1. This team is going to be tough to beat in March

Playing really good basketball at the right time, Michigan State is going to be really tough to beat this month in both the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments.

Prior to this past seven-game stretch that has included four 80-point showings and wins over Maryland, Indiana, Nebraska, and twice against Ohio State, the Spartans were cold offensively. They had lost 5-of-7 games and only scored 70-plus on one occasion.

Now, winners of 5-of-7, the Spartans are playing its best ball at the right time.

While the defense needs to figure some things out, Michigan State’s offense is good enough right now to out-score just about anyone. They’ve been in (and probably should have won) each of the past seven games and if they can match up a good defense with this offense, no one is going to want to see the Spartans in their bracket in the Big Dance.
