2. This is MSU’s best shooting team since 2015-16

While it’s taken a little while this season for the offense to begin heating up, it’s starting to become more clear that this is Michigan State’s best shooting team since 2015-16.

If you remember, that team was one of the best in the nation and probably should have gotten a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but got the 2-seed and was paired up with upset-minded Middle Tennessee in round one. It was one of the most painful losses in program history and the Spartans died by the three that day.

But let’s think happier thoughts.

That team shot an incredible 43 percent from deep, 49 percent from the floor and 73 percent from the line. This team, while not as red-hot, is shooting 39 percent from deep, 45 percent from the floor, and 77 percent from the line.

It’s been a while since a Michigan State team shot lights out for an entire season, but this team has a special touch. If only the offense could be consistent.

Over the past three games, Michigan State is 37-for-64 from deep which is an incredible 57 percent conversion rate. Please keep that up.
