2. Iowa won’t be able to stop Tyson Walker
There’s not a better tough-shot maker in the Big Ten than Tyson Walker. He can have a defender in his face and he’s not afraid to rise and fire. He did that plenty of times against Indiana on Tuesday as he finished with 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting.
In the first meeting against Iowa, Walker didn’t have a tough time getting open and getting shots up as he finished with 14 attempts. He made just four of them for 10 points which was an underwhelming performance, but I think we’ll see him make up for that on Saturday.
Iowa doesn’t really have an answer for Walker at the guard spots. Kris Murray is a forward and Tony Perkins is a decent scorer, but not a high-level one like Walker is and Connor McCaffery is more of a facilitator than anything else. On top of that, the two guards are going to have a tough time slowing down a red-hot Walker.
“Shoot to get hot, shoot to stay hot.” Walker’s motto will come to fruition once again.
I think we’ll see him score 20-plus and lead the Spartans in scoring as the Hawkeyes are left searching for answers.
