Michigan State basketball: Report card for blowout win at Ohio State
Tyson Walker: B+
It was just another solid game for Tyson Walker who has probably been Michigan State’s best player this season not named Joey Hauser — the two are battling it out for team MVP.
Walker didn’t have to do a ton against the Buckeyes as Hauser was having himself a game and he still managed to shoot over 50 percent from the floor and score 10 points. If Walker really wanted to, he could average 15-20 points per game and score at will, but he’s an unselfish play and continues to get others involved. He finished with three assists.
There was a point in the game where Walker really jumped off the screen and impressed me. He got switched defensively onto Brice Sensabaugh and I remember saying to myself that it was a huge mismatch and it wasn’t going to end well. Walker proved me wrong as he used his quick hands to reach in and snag the ball away from the Ohio State star. It should have been a mismatch in favor of Sensabaugh, but Walker’s defense is just too good.
Walker finished with two steals and just played 34 really solid minutes.
