AJ Hoggard: B

It felt like Tom Izzo kept to his word from a couple of games ago when he said that he might need to cut AJ Hoggard’s minutes a bit in order to manage fatigue and a turnover issue.

Well, Hoggard’s modest 25 minutes may have had something to do with foul trouble in the first half. He picked up two fouls and Izzo decided to take him out and he never picked up another one and his defense was much better after getting whistled twice early.

If this grade was based solely on defense and passing, Hoggard would get an A- but his offensive game was very average so that brought the overall grade down a little.

Hoggard finished with six points and five assists and shot 3-for-8 from the floor.

The most impressive aspect of his offensive game was just the one turnover. He was much smarter with the ball against Ohio State and he valued every possession.
