3. AJ Hoggard finishes top five nationally in assists per game

Right now, AJ Hoggard is 14th in the nation in assists per game at 5.9 points per game and that number dipped from where it was over 6.0 per game over the last three because he had just three total assists against Indiana and Iowa. And then three games before the Indiana game, he had just one assist at Illinois.

Hoggard’s assist numbers aren’t where they should or could be, but I think they’re going to climb back up this month and he’ll finish the month of February top five in the nation in assists per game which would put him around 6.5, or so.

I could even see him surpassing Jalen Pickett as the top assist man in the Big Ten. Pickett averages 7.0 assists per game at Penn State but those numbers could fall to somewhere around 6.5

Even if he doesn’t pass Pickett in the Big Ten, I see Hoggard having a really big month after a disappointing stretch and I think he’ll finish the month at around 6.5 per game.

A top five passer in the country is what he’s capable of being, so now we’ll get to see it in action.
