Michigan State basketball: 5 bold predictions for February 2023
4. Jaxon Kohler becomes a legit scoring threat off the bench
We’ve already seen this slowly happen more and more but Jaxon Kohler hasn’t even scratched the surface this season. He’s struggled a bit defensively which has kept him off the court more than he would like, but he’s been earning more minutes because of his offensive potential.
Kohler hasn’t scored in a couple of games, but before the last two games, he had a nice two-game stretch where he was averaging 20 minutes per game where he put up 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
The freshman has looked like baby Jokic in moments but then he looks like he short-arms everything in other moments.
Kohler will have his best month of the season in February and show more flashes of offensive prowess than he has before. He’s going to end the month as the Spartans’ top bench player outside of Malik Hall and have a few 10-point performances in February.
