Malik Spencer was a popular pick to be a breakout star according to his own teammates last year and now with a full season under his belt and because he’s going to have a major opportunity in front of him, I could see him becoming a household name in the Big Ten in 2023.

We didn’t see a ton of him as a freshman as he was still adjusting to the college game and there was just no need for him with Kendell Brooks, Xavier Henderson, Dillon Tatum, and Jaren Mangham all back there getting snaps.

I considered putting either Tatum or Mangham here, but I feel like I wanted to go more of an under-the-radar route and pick Spencer because I think he has true star potential.

Michigan State will need someone to step up with both Henderson and Brooks gone and Spencer feels like the right choice here. The Georgia native is uber-athletic and bursting with potential.
