Joey Hauser: B+

One of the better games Joey Hauser has played this season, he got Michigan State on the board when it was down 4-0 and then continued to hit some big shots throughout.

Hauser finished the night with what we can probably consider the expectation for him moving forward which was 13 points and six rebounds. He was 5-for-8 from the floor and 3-for-4 from deep so I’d like to see him get more shots up, but he was efficient in 32 minutes.

When you have a shooter like Hauser who’s hitting most of his shots, you have to just keep feeding him and Michigan State moved away from that too much.

Joey was also solid on the glass and played some decent defense.

I’m officially moving off the “Joey is a defensive liability” train as well because he looks like he can hang out there. Sure, there are instances where he gets beat and has to foul hard in order to avoid giving up an easy bucket, but at least he’s doing that. A year ago, he’d foul softly, allowing opponents to finish easy and-ones at the hoop.
